Not A Roofers Podcast

Breianna Dahl • Jan 21, 2021
We are so excited to share “Not A Roofers Podcast” with the world. In just under two weeks, we will celebrate launching our first episodes. But how did “Not A Roofers Podcast” come about, and what is it all about?

It was about five months ago, while I was coming up with this blog that the idea for “Not A Roofers Podcast” manifested.
For days, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had stumbled onto a great idea. To be honest, I wasn’t sure then what the podcast would look like, but the title wouldn’t leave my mind. So, while I was still in the middle of figuring out the logistics for this blog, I shared my idea with some people close to me. These people included my parents, husband, sister, and a few employees. I wasn’t prepared for the overwhelming support I got from them on the initial idea.

But for three months, I shoved the idea down to focus on other things.

There isn’t a defining moment when I decided that the podcast was happening, but as I was talking with people about the idea, Charity and I started talking about the logistics of being co-hosts. We began deciding what the podcast would look like, we started recording, and we picked a launch date. Our goal for the podcast is simple, to explain the roofing industry from our point of view. That view is being in the roofing industry but not really belonging in the roofing industry. Neither Charity nor I planned to work for a roofing company, and we now have a unique vantage point from where we can teach others. We welcome you to “Not A Roofers Podcast”.

Our Motto: Roofing Without all the Jargon

We invite everyone to join us on Mondays and Fridays for 10-15 minutes as we discuss and explain aspects of the roofing industry in easy-to-understand ways. From our time around the roofing industry, we’ve realized that one thing roofers are good at is using industry jargon without realizing that other people don’t understand what is being said. Do you know what EPDM or BUR means? Yeah, me either. Charity and I have the goal to explain, describe, and break down the roofing industry so that everyone can understand roofing better.

As we start this new journey, we would love to have you join us. There are currently eleven ways to find and listen to our podcast. Our trailer is already posted, and we appreciate it if you could find your favorite way to listen and subscribe so that you can get notified when new episodes are uploaded. Also watch out for reminders on our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

We look forward to having you join us on February 1st!
